Feature Guide: Entity
[demo gif]
Overview
In brainful, entities (hashtags) are how you organize knowledge. You add entities to a block to associate it with a theme, topic, project, or concept. Entities don’t just store things in one place, they link ideas across your entire system.
Purpose
When information is locked into folders or single categories, it becomes harder to see connections across different areas of work. Entities solve this by letting you tag blocks with multiple themes, topics, or projects, so the same piece of knowledge can be accessed from different angles. This is important for users who don’t want to waste time duplicating or hunting for information, since a block can live in many contexts at once. By weaving these links together, entities improve knowledge management by turning scattered pieces of content into a connected system where related ideas naturally surface when you need them.
Use Cases
- Organizing themes: Use entities to group related blocks under shared topics, making it easy to navigate your knowledge base.
- Connecting ideas: Tag blocks with the same entity to surface relationships that might otherwise stay hidden.
- Tracking progress: Apply entities to follow the development of a concept or project across multiple blocks.
