Feature Guide: Pipelines
Overview
Pipelines are kanban-style boards inside brainful that help you track progress across different entities. Each pipeline is made up of columns that represents entities and blocks that acts like cards. You can drag blocks between columns, and when you do, the entity inside the block automatically updates to match the new column. This gives you a clear, visual way to manage workflows like project progress, todos, or feature development.
When you open a block, you’ll also see all the pipelines it belongs to, along with its current stage and a progress tracker that shows how far it is from completion.
Purpose
Pipelines solve the problem of scattered or hard-to-follow workflows. Instead of losing track of which stage a block is in, you can see everything at a glance on the pipeline board. By visually organizing entities into columns, pipelines help you:
- Understand the status of multiple blocks at once.
- Move work forward by dragging items between stages.
- Stay focused on what matters most while still keeping everything connected to your larger graph.
This makes pipelines ideal for teams and individuals who want both big-picture overviews and block-level clarity.
Use Cases
- Project management: Track tasks moving from planning to completion.
- Content creation: Organize drafts through research, writing, editing, and publishing stages.
- Product development: Monitor feature progress from backlog to release.
- Team collaboration: Give everyone visibility into who is working on what and what stage its in.
- General workflows: Structure any process into clear, sequential stages for easier tracking.
