Feature Guide: Blocks
Overview
Blocks are the fundamental building units of brainful. Instead of forcing your thoughts into long, rigid documents, brainful treats every idea, note, or piece of media as a block. A block can be as small as a single word or as large as an entire article. Each block stands alone, but it can also connect with others, creating both structure and networks of meaning.
A block can contain different types of content: text, images, videos, or even widgets. You can:
- Nest blocks inside each other to build outlines or hierarchies.
- Link blocks together so related ideas naturally cluster.
Think of blocks like Lego pieces — each one is useful by itself, but the real power comes when you combine them to build something larger.
Purpose
Blocks make it easier to capture and organize ideas without forcing them into a rigid format. Instead of getting stuck deciding “where does this belong?”, you can just add a block and connect it later. Over time, your blocks form a flexible knowledge web that grows and adapts with you.
Use Cases (when)
- Take quick notes as individual blocks.
- Outline projects by nesting related blocks.
- Link ideas together to discover new connections.
