Features
1. Blocks
2. Blockspaces
3. Entities
Folders are rigid. Entities are flexible. In brainful, entities (hashtags) are how you organize knowledge. You add entities to a block to associate it with a theme, topic, project, or concept. Because brainful stores your knowledge as a graph, entities are how related blocks naturally collect together.
4. Editor
brainful’s editor is WYSIWYG—what you see is what you get. Formatting feels natural and intuitive, while still giving power users the option to use Markdown-inspired shortcuts. You can style your text with bold, italics, underline, strikethrough, highlights, and headings. You can also insert dividers to break up content. Simply select text to open the context menu with formatting options.
5. Linking
Your ideas shouldn’t sit in isolation. With our linking feature, brainful lets you connect blocks and resources together, turning scattered notes into a living network of knowledge. You can create internal links to tie related blocks within brainful, or external links to bring in context from the wider web. By weaving these connections, your notes become more than just text — they grow into a web of relationships that reflects how your brain naturally works.
6. Stamp
Sometimes you need to mark an important milestone, like wrapping up a draft or finalizing meeting notes. That’s where Stamps come in. With a single click on the stamp button at the top of the editor, which we call blockbar, you can manually save a version of your work and add a short note about what changed. This makes it easy to look back and see exactly where key phases happened, without digging through every small auto-save.
7. Blockroom
Collaboration doesn’t have to mean endless apps or messy threads. With blockrooms, brainful gives you a shared space where you and your team can work together inside the same block in real time. Instead of juggling chats and docs, you can discuss, edit, and refine ideas directly where they live. It keeps the conversation connected to the work itself — so nothing gets lost in the shuffle.
8. Widget Maker
brainful isn’t just about taking notes — it’s about shaping your workspace around how you think. The Widget Maker lets you create custom widgets that live inside your blocks, giving you quick access to the tools, views, or data that matter most. Widgets turn brainful into more than a note app, it becomes your personalized control center.
